Speaker Hughes & Majority Leader Dunnigan

Rep. Jim Dunnigan: As the Representative for House District 39 (Taylorsville/Kearns), I currently serve as the Majority Leader, a member of the Executive Appropriations, a member of the Business and Labor Committee, a member of the Political Subdivisions Committee, Chair of the Health Reform Task Force, a member of the Business, Economic Development, and Labor Appropriations Subcommittee, a member of the Business and Labor Interim Committee, a member of the Ethics Committee, and a member of the Legislative Management Committee . I was named the 2010 Utah Small Business Champion of the Year Award from the National Federation of Independent Businesses. The Utah Business Coalition presented me with the 2010 Top 30 Business Friendly Legislator Award, and I was awarded the 2010 Meritorious Service to the Community as a Legislator Award from Taylorsville City and Legislator of the Year by UHIA (2003-2005). Previously I have served on the Taylorsville City Council (1996-2002) and the Taylorsville/Bennion Community Council (1991-1996). I received my B.S. in Business Management from the U. of U. and currently own my own insurance agency. I enjoy coaching and refereeing youth sports.
